So I have a Buddy 125 that will not start. I was driving it when it suddenly died. No sumbling before hand or warning. It simply stalled.
That was two weeks ago and I haven't been able to get it going. Here are the things I have determined:
1. It is getting fuel (spark plug is wet)
2. Gas is good. I syphoned out the old stuff and put better quality gas in thinking the gas was too old, but to no avail.
3. Spark plug is NOT sparking.
So I have determined that it is an ignition issue. I swapped the plug but it still dosn't work. I have a multi meter but I don't know the specs. (i.e. resistance values). I looked at the service manual but I don't understand electrical diagrams. Ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Scooter will not start!

Might checked the stator. Seems to affect Buddies with some frequency. My friend's 4T Stella recently had a similar issue where the ignition coil shorted internally and quit charging the CDI.
Here's the related thread.

At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Just to be clear, I was suggesting unscrewing the cap from its wire, not just making sure the cap was snug on the plug. There have been rumors of the cap and its connector losing connectivity with the wire. Is that what you checked?cortfitzer wrote:Spark plug is secure
