Which trunk?

Post by guzziknight »

So I got the luggage rack for the Blackjack today. Which trunk works best? I'm looking at either the Shad SH29/33 or the Givi N30. Has anyone mounted one of these, or anything else?

Thanks.

I've mounted the GIVI Monolock N30, SH26, SH29, SH33 cases to the rear rack of a buddy.

The SH29 is the best fit IMO.

The SH33 is the largest you can go without it looking too bulky, but the rounder shape of the trunk forces the mounting plate to be about 1/2 inch further back than the SH29.

They all mount up in a similar fashion. The shad's two button system is more user friendly than the givi cases. The shad should cost less and is equal in quality.

Hope that helps.

It does. Thanks. I was leaning toward the Shad 29, so this convinces me.

The Coocase Wizard looks nice too. Here's how I mounted mine.

I just put a SH33 on my 125 and it looks nice but just a little big. I would probably go with the 29 if I could do it again.

I got the shad29.

I cannot stress this next tip enough!!!

Remove the red clear plastic,
and cut/stick actual reflective material onto the truck, then replace the red clear plastic.

On the trunk on my Guzzi, I have red and hi-viz reflective decals on it. Was going to do it on this trunk as well. Hadn't thought of putting them under the red plastic though...thanks!

Hey guys - So I'm seeing a lot of love for the SHAD hardware.

I get the whole "you get what you pay for" line of thought, but does anyone does anyone have any experience w/ the these 20-30 dollar cases? Looking at the reviews, I'm pretty tempted:

I've got the 33 on mine, and it's a nice size and i like it... don't really need one that big, but that is what they carry at my local shop......
The comment about the tape and sounds ok.... I'm actually thinking of doing mine with an LED setup under the plastic lens in back...It should be a pretty easy mod, and I'd just use a quick connect plug.... being LED it won't draw enough current to matter and I'd just wire it off the tail light to be on when the bike was running...shouldn't cost more then about 15 dollars total, and maybe an hours worth of time at the most...

For what it's worth, I just bit the bullet and bought this little guy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TLFZX8

I'll post pictures and even do a review if anyone's interested once it shows up.

I ordered the small sized Coocase. I will put pics up of it once I have it installed.

After using the Genuine top cases for a few years we upgraded to the Givi on 2 scoots - the girls love them and use them about every trip.
