Best ride to work eva!

Post by DariaSen »

Rode the scooter into work this morning. I have to be here at 6am so the streets were empty. What a great ride...the sunrise at my back..the smells...the quietness of it all! The looks on my co-workers faces when they discovered it was me under the helmet was priceless. Can't wait until my shift is over 'cause it's going to be a long 10hrs before I can ride her home.

This was my 1st real ride since getting the scooter. She's only got 40 miles on her so far...but I can tell that will change quickly.

(Don't know what made my scooter a girl...but she is)

Cool!!!! I Love early morning riding when the sun is coming up, and traffic is light and the cars aren't shooting by you.... I haven't named my scooter yet, but I have always named my Motorcycles and cars....and never just an indiscriminate name, but a meaningful name.... I'm about 50/50 Guy vs girl names... but the Girls are always Sweeter, LOL..... glad you had a good ride to work...

Be safe on that ride home if it's raining. The roads are extra slippery the first hour or so when the rain starts while the built-up oils and crap wash off.
Especially if it hasn't rained in a while.
Allow your self extra stopping distance and be careful on the turns and using the brakes.

But still, enjoy! I don't mind riding in the rain much. I'll take it over wind any day.

32,000 miles later and it still doesn't get old! I get to work around 6:15, and it's only 6 miles if I go direct. Now that it's getting warm in the mornings, I like to add another 30-40 miles and make a sunrise trip up and down the GW Parkway along the Potomac River before all the crazies take over the roads.

Early morning and evening rides are wonderful. Some of the most relaxing and pleasant rides I've had. One word or caution ... I'm not sure what your area is like, but here in the good ole Midwest, that's also the time the very plentiful deer population likes to play Russian roulette with moving vehicles. So don't get so relaxed that you let your guard down.
