80 Miles, Four Ferries, 6.5 Hours
It was a good day to ride in the Pacific Northwest. I took my Buddy 50 on a long excursion through Whidbey Island. Love having the scoot for the ferries. There was a 1/4 mile line of cars waiting for the next ferry and I was able to pass right in front of all of them and get on the boat.
Plus you are always first on and first off. The Buddy road much better than my 2009 Buddy 50 mainly because this one is de-restricted. I was able to maintain a constant 30 and hit 40 many times and the roads were pretty much empty.

Great trip! Particularly with the ferrie experience as a trip break.
I've grown to love trips like this, whether there short half day, full day trips or longer touring rides. This is why I own my bikes.

Hmmm, is a ferrie one of those little things with wings (just askingRob wrote:Great trip! Particularly with the ferrie experience as a trip break.

Yes, I love taking a scooter or motorcycle on the Washington State Ferry System. First on, first off - such a deal. And Whidbey Island, the San Juans, whatever - they were made for scooters.

I've had good and bad experiences with ferries. The captain of the ferry to Bois Blanc Island up by Mackinac backed his huge pick-up truck into my scooter while I was gearing up to disembark. I had to grab it and drag it on its center stand to avoid it being knocked over, its front fender got scratched by his bumper, and all I got was a shrug and a "sorry" from him. And an attempt to start a fight with me when I gave him the finger as I walked the bike off his barge. A car ferry is an extension of the road, and you have to plan for inconsiderate assholes there too.

The finger? How about license number and contact info for his insurance agent? No reason to exchange unpleasantries with an asswipe who backs into your scooter.TVB wrote:The captain of the ferry to Bois Blanc Island up by Mackinac backed his huge pick-up truck into my scooter while I was gearing up to disembark.
