It's great that you have a dealer you think that much of. Now... SUPPORT THEM!! Many of us have lost good dealers in the recent past. The good ones seem to be "scootercentric" as opposed to having a scooter sideline in a big box powersports dealership. The problem is, scooters alone just aren't that profitable and there can be significant differences is year to year sales volume. They need more to survive. SO.. when you need accessories, tires, brakes, gear, get them from that dealer you think is so great. Then he'll be there when you really need him (or her).

Mike and the guys are always willing to help, give advice or just drink a beer with you.
Most of our rides start from their shop.
I love ScooterWorld. I've bought three scooters from them (since 2007).
Their service work is great and they stand behind the product they sell.
They even loaned me the use of their trailer for Amerivespa in 2012.

yeah, I know there are at least 3 or 4 of us on Modern Buddy that use Scooter World.
The only thing I've purchased for mine that I didn't get there was my Prima pipe that I got off of Ebay. My Windshield, my rear rack, my Shad, my lighter outlet, my Cowl protectors, Tires, Tubes, Service, and all I've gotten there..
I think I mentioned a while back, that if they don't have it in stock, they order it for me and it's always less then the price I see advertised online at stores, and no shipping charges!!!!!
From some of the nightmares I see, I'm certainly Happy that I have such an Awesome shop to go to.......

I got mine serviced at Route 66 where I purchased. It was a standard service. I just don't love the guys there. I bought stuff out of NoHo before they closed down and just felt a better vibe. I will probably opt to go there in the future.
This info is on NoHo's facebook page:
For anyone looking for scooter or motorcycle service. One of our former mechanics Josh is working out of the back of the former NoHo Scooters location. His number is (818) 428-0953.

I agree totally. I've bought two scoots there and have been a customer of theirs going on two years now. I've been going to SW since they started in 2003 but back then it was more to see what a scooter was and what they could do and pretend I could afford one. Back then they had SYM and some kind of electric mountain bike and they were in a different location. They have hooked me up with many deals. They are straight forward with me which I prefer. They'll flat out tell me what scooters kind of suck or are a bitch to work on even if they sell them. I don't wanna step on any toes so I won't say what ones. I didn't have enough money for two stroke oil once and they gave it to me for what I had on me. They gave me an amazing deal on my trade in on my buddy. BTW My buddy 50 should be on sale there. Has original rack and new one, has shad topcase, and Ray was thinking about putting the black out kit on it.
These people deserve props. Dave's been my mechanic for a long time. And the only mechanic I've ever gone back too. I had a fun time being at SW and watched with Ray as they had their first test drive crash of the year. I know it's mean but deal lord it was funny to watch somebody take a scooter from the show room and instantly crash. Sorry to him if he bought that buddy and is now a member here. But even you have to admit it's fun to watch a wreck. Even more fun when nobody is seriously hurt.

I don't think I've seen you riding around. I'm on 95th and I can sit on my front step for an hour and see a handful of scooter ride by. I literally see them daily. Back on topic though....I think I've seen your scoot at SW. Right before I bought my Buddy or right at the first service I forget when, they rolled out a customers Buddy that had a nice chrome pipe on it. They fired it up and it sounded surprisingly cool. I struggle to remember the color but I do think it was orange. Right in my block I've seen one teenage girl with a two color buddy with a lowered seat who rides sometimes with her dad on a motorcycle, two other black buddies both 125s, and somebody on a red buddy, and on my ride to work I regularly see a buddy 170i and an international.

That definitely could have been mine....I don't ride every day, sometimes I'm on my Motorcycle, or in the car or truck... I'll Look for you when I'm out riding around.. I asked Ray yesterday, if that 50 was the one that was traded for the Like.... and he told me you were down on 95th..... I have seen the Girl on the Scoot with her Dad on the Bike.......
I look like the "mean ol Biker type"......so a lot of people won't talk to me, but you can ask Ray and David and every one, I'm a easy going funny guy....LOL.... Hope to see you around.....
Regards Sonny

While we're talking about best scooter shops ever, here, I have to give a shout-out to Wick's Wheels in Bloomington, IN - if it weren't for them I'd still be puttering around on my old Honda Metro, only riding to work and back. Not only did they introduce me to the awesomeness that is the Buddy, but they also started up a scooter riding club so I've actually got people to ride with! (Aside from my hubby, anyway. He keeps shooting ahead of me on his Stella, and it's nice to ride with other 50cc scoots...)

wanted to share my fiasco and the service I received from BMA Cycles in Bainbridge, PA; recently I was riding with a friend to a benefit chicken b-b-q event; twice I felt a clunking thru the floorboard, but the scooter kept running without any degradation in performance...my first thought was the variator rollers might have gotten stuck and when they released I got the clunk; on the way back from the b-b-q we stopped off and I checked the oil level...it was noticably low (it was full when I checked it in the morning bafore the ride); I looked underneath the scooter and the entire casing was covered in oil and dirty residue; I cleaned the crap off, checked the tightness of the filter & drain plugs, topped off the oil, and idled the engine...no indications of any leaks; I rode home and saw the start of another leak!
deadlined the scooter and hauled it to BMA Cycles for repairs; I gave them oil & filter to replace after their inspection and asked them to change the spark plug; they cut open the filter that was on the scooter and no excess metal...same thing for the magnetic drain plugs; this was a very good sign! the shop tech noted that the oil filter base plate was loose and he tightened the bolts (I'm gonna have to check them from time to time); the other thing they found was a broken resistor inside the spark plug boot...this was causing interruptions in the delivery of electricity to the spark plug, hence disrupting the ignition cycle; since I had excess unburned fuel in the exhaust, the clunking was happening when that fuel vapor was getting ignited by hot exhaust gases in the muffler; a few small quirky things that together was indicating something potentially worse...
I stopped by Tuesday and took the scooter for a 50 + mile ride to make sure everything was ok...no further problems! they are tweaking some stuff with the windshield and mirrors and I will be bringing it home tomorrow!
