Go ahead and post one. Or more then one.

I just want a causal little thread to see what other scooter riders prefer when it comes to motorcycles. I bet some are a far cry from Buddy. But most motorcycles would be.

This isn't meant to be a "Gallery" forum thread as its in General Discussion. But it would be nice to see your bikes, and leave a few comments about 'em if you like

I had this bike in the 70's until someone decided to pull in front of me. Maybe it was because it was my first, but this was the most enjoyable bike I've ever owned. Very quick!

ha just kidding, guys. really nice rides that look like pride is taken in. i can just imagine the many miles piled up on all those bad ass cruisers. the SonnyD Harley looks as if it might float down the highway

i like this thread because it gives new scooter riders a chance to see motorcycles and scooters go hand in hand and many ride both

leather chaps on a Buddy? why not?! and while you're at it slap on a couple Harley stickers, too!

yeah, my Buddy exsisted side by side with "Black Cherry Betty" my Harley.....Many days I'd ride them both...some days were just the right day to ride the Buddy.....
I've always been a big believer in "Wind Therapy"... it can truly uncloud a worried mind, and make things seem more aligned... I've always liked taking the back roads on a summer evening. it's a lot quieter, less traffic, almost like hiking in the back woods. As my bikes got bigger, it was less and less fun. You might end up on a narrow dead end, or lots of gravel, or any of many things a back road can lead you in to... The Buddy was such a fun bike to ride, and if the road turned to mud, or gravel, or just stopped on a hill....No problem, just lift the front up and turn it around... It really got me back into enjoying nature a lot more...when i didn't have hundreds or thousands of miles to go, and a short time to get there.....

Urals are a barrel of fun. Dogs love the heck out of them, and you have oodles of room for gear for a multi-day adventure.

For ScootLemont, here is another taste of GT250.

Also added my wife's CT110 and the CT70. The CT70 is 20 years old but has less than 300 miles on it.

Personally I am liking Rob's Kawasaki S3 Mach 2. Nothing else is like the sound of a screaming 2 stroke triple.

I love CT70's. Have wanted since I was a kid. Now I could buy one but they are too slow for the typical 45mph speed limit roads here.

Yes, I think my 50cc Roughhouse might embarrass the CT70. But they are neat bikes, and well made. I bought it about 13 or 14 years ago as a collector item. Not so practical to ride around here. But it likes the forest service roads!

Too funny. I started with the PW80... and then figured I needed a bike to supervise. My oldest son outgrew the PW80 and I got him the CRF150. My second son is too big for the PW80 now and I'm looking for a CRF125 for him. My daughter rides the PW now.

My oldest is starting to out ride me now. I hate sand. CO looks awesome in your photo.

Same here - bought my son the PW and got tired of renting a bike or sitting in the car while he rode a track. I was offered a straight up trade of the KLX for my Buddy (a deal financially in my favor given the 11k on the Buddy and the KLX being in great condition) and so I took it.

He's getting big for the PW but could probably get another season out of it. Trying to decide if I should move him to a KLX 110 (automatic) now or hold off and get him shifting on something bigger next year.

And yes, Colorado riding has been a blast. I'm very much a novice but learning to let the bike take me over everything. My hardest times have been on sandy trails so I don't envy what you went through in that pic!!

Dont have a picture of it but my motorcycle is a 1978 Honda CB400A restoration project. As for sidecars , always wanted a Ural but would have to put a suicide shift on it. will stick with my scooter/sidecar set up.So far as I know it is the only one of its kind in the country. TGB lazor scoot for a tug.
Favorite,ride is my Buddy 170i.

Raceway Services in Salem, OR makes a great series of hand shift kits for the Ural. They mount on the right side so you use the conventional hand clutch on the left (takes the "suicide" out of suicide shift

- the hand shift on mine is clearly visible beside the tank in my Ural photo above). You can control the 4 forward gears, reverse, and the 2WD shift with your right hand. Works great and also functions as a positive neutral finder. Every Ural should have at least the reverse/neutral setup. (not all Urals have 2WD, but all have reverse)

Mine is a 2000 with a 2003 750 engine. I broke the camshaft on the original 650 engine, but was able to get an entire new engine really cheap so I did the upgrade. I later upgraded the alternator, timing system, and mufflers. Have not had any other mechanical issues beyond routine maintenance and adjustments. The Ural is quite easy to work on and you can readily do all your own maintenance. The bike gets about 40 mpg.

Just brought this one home to accompany the Buddy.
'08 S40 with 2745 miles on it. Same year as the Bud but about 38k fewer miles

Rode it home 70 miles from Fort Collins. Fun bike but makes me appreciate how comfortable the Buddy is!
With the hump in the seat, I can't slide back like I can on the Bud.

There's a mod to raise the front of the seat an inch or two which I'll probably
do pretty quick.

I love the Wolf, it's a great bike. I have 0 faith in Lance Powersports/Alliance, the US importer/distributors, after having really bad experiences with them this spring trying to get parts. They suck, enough that when I get my CB350 (below) road-ready, and I have to sell one of the 3 bikes, it is the Wolf that is most likely to be offered. I know I will miss it.

Here's that CB350K4 - a 1972 model twin, only 6800 original miles and one owner when I bought her about 3 months ago. She is OEM except for tires, seat cover, and silencers.

Here's all 3 in their "garage", along with other methods by which I like to travel...

hey thats cool! i remember when you posted about getting it. glad it worked out! hey, our bikes are almost the same color they could be cousins!

i put up a "stock" pic of my bike. i am going to snap some pics and post them but i am not camera friendly atm. phone is no good, camera is no good, i hate taking pics.

but yeah my bike is pretty clean and looks like any other red Yamaha FZ6. like the one i posted. i posted a stock photo because its a "wtf" posting pics of other peoples bikes!! i'll get my own up soon, hopefully

if any of you reading are wondering this is a bike good for people coming off scooters imo. very natural and upright riding position, lite enough at 460lb wet, and very agile and nimble. i rode it home over 10 miles in L.A. traffic having never rode a motorcycle before, really. thats how rider friendly the bike is

it takes some acclimation like any bike but as standard sport bikes go i can't find much of a flaw in the '07-'09 S2 FZ6. i can't say about earlier models. it is a joy and complete blast to ride

This is my 1981 Honda CM400a. The "a" stands for AWESOME. She was on her way to get a facelift. I anxiously await her return, probably the week after Amerivespa.
