Does this look like it'd work for the Buddy?

Most of the 'X9's are a wee bit taller than the stock 'X7'. If I read the specs right for the 7 vs. the 9 on Amazon, the 9 is about .4" taller.
The underside of the battery-box cover has molded plastic spacers that look like plus-signs from the end. Trim them down and the 9-sized battery will fit. There's a thread on this in one of the technical forums - look for "plus mod" or some such.

Don't know if this is relevant to the Buddy line-up. My RH50 has a 1/4" foam spacer in the bottom of the battery well. Came with the scoot. Would this give enough room for a taller battery, if it is in the Buddies battery well?
If its there it would save a bunch of unnecessary cutting of the battery cover.

Here's the mod thread: topic14379.html
Unfortunately, it's old and the pictures went bye-bye. But you get the general drift from the narration.
