Buddy Oil Filter Change Interval?
Is there a consensus here on whether to change the Buddy's oil filter at every oil change or every other oil change? I also belong to the Modern Vespa forum and many folks over there say they change it out every other oil change. I'm from the old school and was always taught to change out my oil filters every time I changed the oil. Opinions?

I change the filter every second or third oil change. I try to change the oil every 1,200-1,500 miles. That is on a broken in scooter(over 8,000 miles) that is ridden a lot. If I rode less I would probably change the filter more often, though it probably wouldn't do much to make the engine last longer.

Read your manual
Oil every 1800 mi filter every 3600. Unless you think you know better than the manufacturer who warranties the engine for 2 years from new. More importantly use a motorcycle or scooter specific oil. Full synthetic or synthetic blend. A lot of people change them too often because it's easy and neglect valve adjustments and using fuel stabilizer. Bear in mind 15w40 is only available in full synthetic but 20w50 should work.[/i]

Re: Read your manual
Shell Rotella T4 15w-40 is a conventional oil. It is meant for diesel engines but it also works great in the Buddy 125. My first Buddy 125 lasted over 44,000 miles running it and the Buddy 125 I have now has over 14,000 miles with the last 10k using it.)Mikestib1 wrote:Oil every 1800 mi filter every 3600.
