I've been scouring the internet and our community for more info about oil types for the Stella 4t Manual and I've been getting a ton of conflicting information about oil types and I'd like to A: Inquire about any previously posted threads on this topic. B: Make it easier to find for others asking the same questions.

Which oil is best for breaking in a new Manual Transmission Stella?
Which oil is best after break-in?
Which oils are okay to use?

Bonus question:
Since I also love cars, Royal Purple has been the creme de la creme, is this okay to use in my scooter?

I bought a quart of it on amazon for $15.

I am kinda bummed that no one gave any answers or pointed me in any direction.

Usually scooters are delivered from the factory with a "break in" oil and you change to a standard 4T oil at the first oil change. That would mean that you only need to add a "break in" oil to an engine that has just been rebuilt. The usual recommendation is a good dino oil, then switch to a synthetic after about 500 miles.

As you might gather, everyone has their personal opinion on brands of motor oil and most discussion threads on the subject are fairly confusing. In fact "oil threads" have become something of a joke for that reason.

I'm almost embarrassed to ask this, but what's the part # for the gasket around the oil filter? (Didn't find it on the parts diagram.) Do folks change this every time they change the filter?

How true is this? I just had a new piston and rings put in and changed the oil to synthetic at 250 miles. I'm still taking barely even using half throttle for another 250.
Should I change it back?

The majority of break in occurs during those first 250 miles. I would have stayed dyno but I think you will be fine.

The Buddy motors are great, it's tough to screw up break in. Break it in like a dog it will run like a dog, break it in right and it will take care of you for a long time!. It will probably take about 1K miles to really settle in. Sounds like you're doing a good job breaking it in properly.
