Hi, guys. I'm back.

Post by Elm Creek Smith »

Late last year, after being a daily commuter by Buddy for about a year, I got sick. The doc said it was a respiratory problem caused by a long-ago exposure to some...extreme low temperatures that damaged some tissues in my trachea and bronchi (sp?). He told me to wait until I healed and the weather moderated before resuming my scooter commuting. In the meantime, earlier this spring I trashed my Fulmer full coverage helmet in a little off-roading adventure. My wife wasn't real thrilled with me, so I waited until I picked up a new helmet (today). I plan to ride to work tomorrow and swing by to pick up a new battery after work. (I had to kickstart the Budd tonight since I kinda let the battery go.)

BTW, the new helmet is a black Fulmer Modus AF-M. I really like it.

Anyway, I'll be back around. Have a happy!

Other than being a little sore from the 6 hours I spent running a chainsaw Saturday (cleaning up after last year's ice storm continues). I'm doing fine. The Budd is a battery change away from being in tip-top running condition. After the new helmet cost is recouped by the 100 mpg provided by the Budd, I'll look at fixing the appearance condition (scraped up plastic).

I put over 8,000 miles on the Budd from October '06 to December '07. I figure I can run over 12,000 by the end of summer or more.

Hi, jp! Hi, poli!

I ended up with more than 8600 miles on my Budd last year. I just started riding again, and I'm close to 8800. That daily driving stuff racks 'em up. I rode home from work today in the thunderstorms that raced in from the south. Gotta love those Frogg Togg's Road Toads!

Hey, Louie!

On my way out of the office today, I heard, "Goodbye, Scooterdude!" for the first time in a long time. Felt good!
