The deed has been done...
I done bought me a 2007 Buddy!
I called Urban Moto in Austin today asking about their '07 Buddy's (which I do every other day as of late) and they had one black '07 in stock. They informed me it was the last one of the season so I hussled down there to make a down payment, but lo and behold... she had white walls!
John said that for some reason the factory shipped that particular scooter with '08 International white walls, and what earns those dudes a special valve in my heart is that they didn't raise the price for it. Seeing as how I had planned to add white walls down the road that's a lot of pennies saved/earned!
I highly recommend Urban Moto for all your scooterly needs. And I also want to thank everyone at Modern Buddy for answering my nooblike questions and being all around cool cats.
Hope to see you on the road soon.

SWEET! Congrats. Are those Maxxis whitewalls on there? BONUS! I love my WWs, I have the stock Italia ones which are the gangster ones with like half the tire covered in white. Unfortunately they don't really have the "performance" of the new ones, I'll prolly end up switching to the Maxxis when these wear out. That is really awesome you got your scoot. Nix on the pink one, eh? Black is cool, I think I read you had some paint job ideas in the future? Can't wait to see! HAVE FUN!!! (I know you're gonna!)

Pics of the happy couple on the "Widow Maker" are forthcoming! The tires are definitely Maxxis, because I remember thinking "Maxxis?! The makers of Sim City also make tires?"
I'm taking the MSF on May 9th so it will be a little bit before I can hit the mean streets, but you can bet I'll be putting around the neighborhood. This might be even nerdier than the Sim City observation, but I've been mocking up paint jobs in Photoshop for the past couple of weeks. I'll put up a poll soon and we'll see which "theme" gets the raving reviews.
Note: Profile changed per Orange Guy's request!

I know Corsair and I would definitely be down for a group ride, especially now that we are getting to know our way around a bit. Recently drove downtown to the Dragon Boat Races and had a blast scooting around the campus. When are you getting ur bike, madtolive? The ATX Buddy numbers are skyrocketing!

i want to be there as soon as they open, to avoid increased traffic on the road home. i live off brodie and william canon, which is quite a ways from urban moto, i'm scared as all hell of the ride. i bet buddy is going to be scared too, i consider it will be a bonding experience for the both of us.
unless i sissy out and just load her onto the back of a pickup truck. i've heard this is difficult tho, any comments on this?
ahhhhh, heart rate just went up thinking about it. i have a paper due in 4 hours, you guys!
christy, yesssss, i've decidied on the seafoam!! except mine is not seafoam green, it's a zombie blood buddy! my sweet little zooming zombie blood buddy!

madtolive, if I go on Saturday it will be earrrrrrrrly!
Since I'm not even taking my MSF until May 9th I'll be loading the buddy up into the truck. I've yet to go pick up any straps which I need to look into (I just moved a home gym by tying it up with jumper cables), but I would imagine Urban Moto has a ramp for loading up scoots into trucks.
I'll call tomorrow, find out what it takes to move a Buddy by truck, and let you know.

Thanks jfrost2, motorhead! Speaking of, one of the few bands I like even more than Bad Brains is Motorhead. I've been looking for a decent back patch to testosteronerize my jacket with.
I'll see if I can't find Canyon Dancers or something like them in the area, along with some decent straps. And then I'll tie it down with jumper cables to really seal the deal!
