Last night was the first time I was really able to take the Pamplona out and really ride. The weather was nice on the way to meet up with my fellow scooter riders. Returning home, I froze. I am looking into one of those lap skirts. Any suggestions?
Anyway, I was pushing her pretty good. Speedo said 65 and I still has room for more throttle. She was nice and stable. However, on the ride home, I was so cold, I just wanted to get home. So, I pushed even more. The speedo was slightly above 70, she is still going nice and stable and ....... a cop hits his lights. After the official "license and registration" he reminded me that I was going a little too fast and that I was in a 45mph zone. I asked him (I tried to not show how excited I was) how fast he clocked me and he said 68.

At that point I wanted to jump for joy and then remembered I was about to get a ticket. Thats when the scooter Gods came down from the heavens. The officers words, "now how can I give a moped a ticket? Just slow down." I wanted to correct the ignorant fool by saying "this is not a moped, its a scooter!!!" But it was either that or a ticket. So, just as I was about to get ready to leave, the officer asks, "Where did you get your moped? how much? how the mpg? etc, etc, etc." I took the opportunity to clarify that I was riding a scooter and then answered his other questions. He than stated "I am going to have to get me one of these. You have a nice evening."
My first "almost" ticket.
