PGO Scooters in Taiwan...??? Seriously, I can't find them...

Post by tyger23 »

OK, I've been here for a few days now, and I simply can't quite believe the quantity of scoots....

Simply stated, the scoots outnumber the cars by about 2 to 1.

All that's well and good, but here's my delima - I can't find a freaking PGO store or scooter accessory store.

If anyone tells you that PGO scoots are popular in Taiwan, I'll have to beg to differ. Kymco and Sym are leading the way, with Yamaha in a close third. Everything else is a distant competitor and generally not even on the radar screen of what I view as the "big 3". Walking down Minquan Rd and even Songjiang Rd, I've run into close to 30 scooter stores. All of these stores sell the same three brands - Kymco, Sym, and Yamaha.

I've also searched near Taipei 101 and Longshan Temple. Still only the "big 3".

In the literally tens of thousands of scooters I've seen this week, I've been able to identify perhaps 10 PGO scooters. That's about 8 BuBu's and 2 G-Max. Granted, I'm not as adept at identifying PGO scoots other than the Buddy (BuBu). But seriously, they are few and far between. There are a ton of scoots that look just like the G-Max, but they're always a Sym or a Yamaha.

If anyone has any tips as to where I can find a scooter accessory store that sells PGO upgrades or PGO dealer, please let me know.

Yea, PGO is popular, but they dont have as many factories as SYM and kymco. They're more spread out.

Heres their dealer list of taiwan

Unfortunately, without the addresses, that's not helping me much. Where'd you get the map? Perhaps I can find the addresses.

yeah taiwanese dont like PGO, they may be the best built scooters with the biggest factory but taiwanese hate them so you wont find many dealers.

its just a brand thing, they think PGO copy yamaha which is really dumb since they build the yamahas and SYM and KYMCO build identical scooters with different bodywork and decals!.

also your in the wrong place, 101 is the rich area, wont find many places there!

From what I've heard, PGO is somewhat denigrated as a brand in Taiwan and that most of their focus is on export sales.

If you go to Italy, don't expect to see many Vespas. Everyone's riding Asian scoots.
