"Yes, you're empty. We really mean it..."

I've been trying to ride into the dregs of the tank to burn out some possible fuel contamination from the first week of ownership. Some gas station washing fluid dripped into the tank, and might be the source of the gas-starvation I've had during some long rides. Once I get well into the E I visually check my tank to make sure I have enough at the bottom of the tank. When I got to work this morning, I noticed that the tank was...er...low. As in "covering the bottom" low. I headed for the nearest gas station to top up.

I got a block. You know, pushing a scooter the better part of a kilometer in hot weather can produce an *epic* sweat when in full gear. I had to toss my shirt into the dryer when I got to my parents for dinner to get out the sweat.

I think I've established how big the Metro 125's tank is. 6 litres, not 6.7. I filled to the brim with 5.3 litres on top of the smallish amount still left in the tank that was insufficient to keep the motor running. I suspect I still have some fuel contamination; next tank I'm going to toss in some Seafoam or another dessicant to clear out any lingering water.

Sort've. E means I've hit the four liter mark. I still (supposedly) have about 2 liters left. Of course, that's not comforting when you've just shed ten liters of perspiration... :P
