Re: italjet Dragster
I've ridden a few. They don't make them anymore and won't be again. The versions of 50cc vary and the 180 is hard to come by. Some parts even harder.

this sounds like a question for steve guzman, the atx's resident scooter insider. check thescooterscoop.com, he's written on the dragster quite a bit...
sunil: "And if you spend 40 dollars making a pizza then you sir are a retard."
ericalm: "No name calling, please. Maybe he's using truffles and top-grade meats."

Edit: nevermind, I guess they changed it. I had heard a couple places saying they were gonna make 'em again. I must've missed something.Krusty wrote:Actually they are supposed to be making them again like next year or something... both the 50 and the 250! popular demand I guess. I heard the 50s aren't all that great, but I personally have never ridden one.

Steve Guzman (aka as The Scooter Scoop), just recently resigned from his Marketing job with Italjet, the makers of the Dragster.
If you read his blog, it does not appear like the Italjet products will hit our shores anytime soon. Too bad as the Dragster gained a huge cult following in Europe and it would have been nice to have it as an option here.

Beer is the answer . . . what was the question?

The older (turn of the millenium-era) Dragster and Runner 2-strokes had the same engine, both were great. The Dragster looked a little flashier, but I always kinda liked the Runner better, which is partially why I got the Blur, it's a bit similar-looking.
The Dragsters were sold here briefly, but the importer was lame (and I don't think they ever brought in the two-strokes.) The Runner's never been sold here. I've seen a few for sale, but I don't really want a scooter that I'd have a hard time titling and getting parts/service for.
