Internationals weight?

I've been lurking here for awhile and appreciate everyones input and experience's. I'm planning on pulling the trigger on a buddy 150 (Italian) this week and have been trying to find the weight of this beast, to no avail. I plan on taking a family road trip the end of the month, and want to bring it along on a hitch type mount. Any suggestions, I've looked at the versa-haul and the tilt a rack online but not in person. I also have a road king that weighs in at just under 800lbs. any chance finding one that would be dual purpose.

I think my 2006 Sunset 125 (Hobbes) is 236 lbs.

I don't know what would hold 800 lbs on a hitch mount. I think that is trailer time.
We have a Joe Hauler (two piece steel) and a Tilt A Rack (one piece aluminum). The Joe hauler has a ramp that makes pushing it up a little easier, but you need a huge side approach angle. (Beyond the sidewalk up into the yard.) The Tiltarack has been our favorite so far. It rolls up into position and ties down, away you go. The JoeHauler has to have the ramp mounted to the rack alongside the scooter, so it is heavy and rattles a bit. We have had MotoGuzzi motorcycle on that and seemed stable enough.

Genuine does not list the weight of any of Buddy on their WEB site. When Just Gotta Scoot evaluated the Buddy 150, they listed the Buddy’s dry weight as 223 lbs. Add in about 10 lbs. for fluids (gasoline and oil) which means that a stock Buddy 150 should weigh approximately 233 lbs. Here is the URL for the Just Gotta Scoot Buddy 150 evaluation:

I have the VersaHaul carrier which will carry a scooter/motorcycle weighing up to 500 lbs. This is a great way to transport my Buddy if I only need to carry one Buddy. For me the limiting factor is how much weight my hitch receiver can carry. I have a Class III hitch receiver that can only carry 350 lbs. When I add the weight of the Buddy (233 lbs.) plus the weight of the VersaHaul (70 lbs.) the hitch receiver is carrying just over 300 lbs. which is approaching the maximum weight that I can carry on my Class III hitch receiver. When I need to transport both of my Buddys, I use a Kendon Combo trailer.

You didn’t say what type of vehicle you have for carrying the Buddy. If your vehicle has a Class IV hitch receiver then that class of hitch receiver can carry up to 1,000 lbs. and I have seen people carry large motorcycles directly on their hitch receiver but I can’t tell you make/model of the carrier they were using because I did not pay attention to it.

Thanks for the information. Wow, the 2008 Buddy 150 is 216 lbs!

I was curious so I checked the owners manual for my 2007 Buddy 125 and its dry weight is 101 kilograms (or 222.6 lbs.). It looks like Genuine/PGO has made the 2008 Buddy 150 lighter than the 2007 Buddy 125. It is not a big difference but I just assumed that the Buddy 150 would be slightly heavier. I guess that if I trade my 125 in for a 150 then I don’t have to go on a diet.
