A friend's dad crashed

Post by Orange Guy »

He wasn't on a scoot, but ... we can relate to two other things: He was going 60 mph and he was geared up. Here's the post from our disc golf forum:
I am sorry guys but I will not be able to make it there tomorrow night. I just got home from University of Wisconsin Madison hospital attending to my father and have to drive back up early in the morning. Mr. Bill had every intention of coming out tomorrow night with the 4 wheeler, but a 60 mph hour get off of his motorcycle will prevent him from attending the worknight. He has fractures in his T5, T6, and T7 vertebra in his spine, a pretty serious concussion, lots of bruises, and some road rash, but was up on his feet for a minute or so and is able to walk, move his arms, and is now making sense when he talks. Thank god dad was wearing a good full face helmet, full riding jacket, and knee guard equipped riding pants or we would be burying him. He is expected to make a complete recovery but it is going to be a long tough road.

Not really sure why I'm posting this here. Maybe just a reminder that even with all the gear, you're still going to get hurt.

True. I think some people feel somewhat invincible when they've got gear on...

Most of it is just going to help you keep your head intact and keep your skin on: Falling (or getting dropped) hurts.
Huh? What just happened?

AMEN! Thanks for the post. Glad your friend's dad is going to be ok.
With so many inexperienced riders on the scene these stories serve a useful purpose.
