I know this is an old thread but I was at my dealer today and they had one outside. Wow it was beautiful. They let me sit on it and look it over pretty good. If I had the money I would have taken it home. Very nice bike for being a motorcycle.

I believe that buried in that thread with the video about Taiwan, there was some mention about some roads being restricted to MC's and scooters 150cc & below. Maybe that sheds some light on the engine size of the Wolf and the Kymco Kwannon.

^^^ Really? I kind of wondered about the dispacement myself. That may explain it.

I must say, a pretty decent looking bike.

Actually, the Taiwan government sets a displacement limit for all motorcycles and scooters in the country at 150cc. That doesn't mean some people don't have larger bikes there (I saw a few), it's just a matter of who's palm gets greased and how much. Also, at the time I was there, the displacement limit for normal passenger cars was 1.8L. I drove a BMW 5 series with a 1.8L engine in it and an automatic. What a pig!

Just go with a Honda, Suzuki, or Yamaha 250. They are proven!About $1500 used.

I've been seeing more Rebel 250s on the road around here lately. Maybe there is a trend towards cheaper and smaller. (Economy? Same reasons scooter sales have improved?)

Motorcycles and scooters both serve a purpose.I have had three motorcycles and have come to own a scooter ,a Buddy.I will say that if fun is where its at go with a scooter.If you are looking for thrill maybe a motorcycle would be the way to go.
Personally ,I would be less likely to trade up or down my Buddy for fear of what I would lose just trying to gain power or speed.I had a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500, a Kawa Vulcan 750, and a BMW 750,,,,all very different but none had what the Buddy has.
A nimble,, pleasure to ride, fun machine and at the cost of pennies in comparison.
Just sayin' !
