For me, it's bed with sheepskin, either a good thought-provoking anime or a decent "diving" album (Currently fond of Faun - "Totem"; german folk/trance), and my rottie curled up on my legs snoring.
About the only thing that'll make that setup fail is if the dog starts running in her sleep. She's got one heckuva kick!

Years ago, A picture hanging above our rotties bed fell off the wall in the middle of the night. Hit her smack on the head. Since that night, at least once or twice a month, she would jump up from a cold sleep and run out of the bedroom. We grew used to it.Cheshire wrote:.....and my rottie curled up on my legs snoring.

While on vacation one week, my buddy was house sitting. He was awaken to her jumping up and running. He was convinced she heard something and was going into attack mode. He never feel back asleep in fear that someone was out there.
Wasn't till we got home did he learn our great guard dog was just scared and running from nothing.
I miss that crazy dog.
