If you continue to use the old tire, a second set of treds come up!
I know this for a fact.
My scooter came with different tires, I was able to get nearly 10K miles out of them, and of course some of it was on the second set of treds.
Whatever the case, it seems like the tires should last greater than 4.8K – I wonder if your roads are rougher than we have here, or you’re carrying heavier loads.

I think its because im 6 ft 4" and I sit further back on the seat so my weight is on the rear tire plus our roads suck see videorajron wrote:If you continue to use the old tire, a second set of treds come up!

I think you're right. I sit at the rear of my seat too, plus I have a top case. I think both make a difference.[email protected] wrote:I think its because im 6 ft 4" and I sit further back on the seat so my weight is on the rear tire...
I went through my second rear wheel in 3000 miles compared to 4000 with the first one. The difference between the two I think was because there was about 1500 miles of highway riding on the second tire. Faster speed = hotter tire = faster tire wear. That and I had it slightly over-inflated to 33psi for highway riding.
