Cold (not really that cold) weather stalling

Post by mjm1374 »

I've had my Buddy only since July so this is my 1st cold weather riding season with her. But my Pampolma (150) likes to stall in weather below 50. After running the engine for about 20 minutes the problems goes away but I do not feel a 20 minute warm up period should be needed. Until the engine is good and warm is will randomly idle very low and sometime stall when I come to a quick stop or starts. Anyone else experience anything this?

Yeah, I get this issue. I had to tweak my idle a little to it doesn't die when coming to stops. Other than that I have learned to let it warm up as much as possible before I go riding.

I would turn your idle speed up a touch. Probably about 1/8 turn in is all it needs. Just enough so that it will idle reliably when cold, but not so much that when warm, it idles fast enough to rotate the rear wheel when on teh center stand.
