Buddy 50CC wont start. HELP!

I bought my Intenational Buddy Italia used with only 17 miles on it. What a find. Since it sat all the time, the gas went bad and I had to have the carb torn apart and cleaned. It ran great after that.
I went for a ride and stopped it to go into a place for lunch. When I went to start it back up, there was no electric and I could not start it manually. Dead as a nail. The dealer was nice enough to come and pick me up with the truck. It is at the shop where it wont be worked on till Tuesday when the Buddy tech comes in.
Does anybody know what could be wrong? I'm hoping the warranty will cover whatever could be causing this grief.

Did you buy it from a dealer?

Did the oil light come on when you turned the key?

Hmmm, Have you kick started it before? I know many folks here have had trouble kick starting thier perfectly healthy scooters. With my Buddy Italia 50 I have to give it a bit of gas while I kick it over to get it to start. Otherwise I could try all day and I'd get nothing. Also, did your dealer tell you that they would honor the warranty even though you bought it used. I was under the impression that the warranties were not transferable.

Hi All,
The oil light did not come on. As for the kick start, I have not had any problems with it. I bought it from a private seller that just did not use it. They bought it ata charity and never used it. I brought it to the same dealer that gave the scoot for the charity. They are the ones that mentioned the warranty. They said with so few miles it should still be under warranty. Can't wait to see what the tech says Tuesday.

Depending how strict your dealer is, they may not honor the warranty. It's genuines policy that the warranty doesn't transfer to the next owner of the bike. Many people have had warranty work done on used bikes though, it just depends on how nice your dealer is and if they're willing to really help you out.

The dealer has been great about it. i talked to the tech and my battery was deal as a nail. They have kept it for a couple of days to see if anything is draining the battery. They are going to push it through warranty for me. I bought the scoot with only 17 miles on it.
