Buy or not

Post by Sailboat13 »

Hi guys,,,got a chance to buy a 2004 Burgman 400. It has 2600 miles on it. Guy wanted $3900 and dropped it to $3200 a few days ago. He told me I could have it for $2800 cash. I have my Buddy 150, but this seems like a good deal. Scooter is pretty as all get out. I wasn't looking for another scooter but this Burgman is clean as a whistle and I guess I could just keep it down here in Florida. That way I wouldn't need to haul my Buddy back and forth from Ohio every winter. Trouble is that I'm happy with my 150, but maybe just for the deals sake,,I should buy it. What do think guys?

If it's one you want, you'll ride and you like it then get it if you've got the extra cash on hand. Pretty easy choice even if you aren't looking. How do you think I ended up with the Scarabeo? :)

Here's a google-cached article about the 400 that comes from the burgman forum (sorry, can't access the forum directly) that also lists known issues about the various model years. It may prove helpful in your decision.

Thanks for the link,,,,I think I might pass on acquiring this scooter after reading about the suggestive valve adjustments every 3500 miles. That link was very informative and helpful, thanks again.

The Burgman 400 is a great scooter but I would look for a 2007 or newer. A great deal is only a great deal if it is right for you!
