Scooter Photo Scavenger Hunt August 2010 Wk 1 Recreation

Post by Tony M »

Participant numbers have been low for the past couple of weeks so if you're reading this thread & haven't joined in yet please feel free to be a part of the fun this week. All you need is your scooter & a camera. Don't be shy it is open to everyone, the more the merrier.

This week 's theme Recreation is a fairly broad topic & entirely up to you as to what you make of it. You get to choose your own bonus points items to include in your photo.
You can take your photo anywhere people are engaged in any type of recreation activity whether it be sport, relaxation, parties etc.
For example you may take a photo of your scooter at a beach. The activities captured in the photo may include people playing frisbee, people having a picnic, people swimming, surfing, sailing etc.

Points Scoring
Your scooter in the photo = 5 points
Bonus Points
First person to post their photo = 2 points
Yourself in the photo = 2 points
Each recreation activity represented in your photo = 2 points

Please note: The points are only awarded for the actual activity, not things that are included in that activity. Eg. a man fishing is worth 2 points but you don't get extra points for his fishing rod, tackle box, bait etc. Extra people fishing is still only worth 2 points because it is all the one activity. OK I am rambling on. I will stop now with the explanations

Entries close at midnight Sunday 8th August YOUR local time. Please list your own individual points tally for each item included & your total points score with your photo.

General Rules for every week:
-Only one photo may be submitted by each member for each week’s Theme (but if you get a better photo later in the week, POST IT with your new points - PLEASE edit your original post note that you posted a better photo and note in the newer post that it is a replacement for a previous photo.
-Old photos you have can NOT be used - they must be NEW photos taken the week the photo Theme was posted
-No Photoshop submissions
Any questions just PM me
OK now what are you waiting for??? Go & get that photo!!!

I am heading out of town Friday morning for a 4 day weekend in Wisconsin (no scoots, just ATVs) so I am going to try to get this pic ASAP

I had the best picture! went to the waterfront to read, found a man fishing, a woman walking her dog, and several runners and boaters. The quality of the picture sucked, and it was too blurry to make anything out (cellphone camera). I'll try to post something up as good on Sunday.

I went to the park by the river Saturday where there's usually people picnicing, walking dogs, cycling, kids playing etc but due to our winter gloomy cold cloudy weather there wasn't a soul in sight.

Ha! I went to a couple parks in the last couple days, hoping to see softball playing, picnicking, even fishing at one.

But due to our sunny hot summer weather there wasn't a soul in site. Guess it's all perspective. But I'm not giving up, tomorrow's another day!

This week's hunt had such great potential. It turned out to be a real challenge. I ended up this morning getting a photo with just people playing tennis and soccer. So:
2 points - Tennis (on the left)
2 points - Soccer (on the right)
5 points - My Scooter (in the middle)

9 points.

And it's still raining...
It's not a very good example when the theme was my idea & I didn't get an entry posted. I thought the riverside park was sure to be a certain points scorer as it's usually swarming with people. Maybe I should've went looking for a sporting venue. Rotten Winter weather!!!

Anyway here's the scoreboard

A big thanks to BSFF & Syd for their effort this week
