Anyone know a good upholsterer in the Chicago area?

Post by ariane »

Hi all -

I just brought a '07 Blur home today! So far I'm loving it! However, as other people here have mentioned, it's a bit tall, and I'm only 5'3". I can ride it but would feel much more comfortable with a slightly lower seat.

I've seen the tutorial on cutting seats at girlbike.com, but I'd rather pay a professional to do it. Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone have a good recommendation in the Chicago area?

Thanks!

Wow, that was unhelpful. I was looking for specific recommendations... a place you have used in the past perhaps. Anyone else?

On a side note, if I posted something inappropriate for this forum I would appreciate you telling me so instead of giving such a rude answer. That was not a very welcome reception given that I'm a newcomer here. Thanks.

ariane, looks like they're a newcomer, too, from their number of posts. Don't sweat it.

Looks like nobody in Chicago has any tips for you. Perhaps you could ask your scooter dealer? My local dealer in Philly has experience cutting down scooter seats for us shorties (I'm 5'3" with a 28" inseam). Best of luck, and welcome to Modern Buddy.

PS - Did you see the area just for Blur riders? Perhaps those folks can give you some recs. forum6.html
