Italia touch-up paint?

Post by snclawson »

Hi! I'm a happy new owner of a brand new '07 Buddy 125 Italia.

Well, a mostly happy new owner. I picked up my new scoot this Wednesday, about two weeks after putting money down on one. Needless to say I was excited! Anyway, I rode it home with my wife driving behind me (she was a little worried, since it was my first real ride in traffic!) with no real problems and had a blast! I had some errands to run after that, so I jumped back on it and took off... One errand down and about 2 blocks from my house I got a rear flat! Just under 7 miles of riding. =(

Thankfully the owner of the scooter shop I bought it from was around and happy to come save me! But it was too late to fix the flat, so my scooter and I parted ways for the night. The next day, after some confustion about whether or not the whitewall tires had tubes (they didn't think they did, and didn't have any replacement whitewall tires, so they were just going to put on a black tire...until they took the old one off and found the tube, which they did have!). I drove off happy to be on my new scooter, although a little bummed about the whitewalls not being tubeless and how easy it was to get a flat!

Anyway, when I got home last night I noticed a bunch of scrapes in the paint on the rear rim on the lip next to the tire, on both sides! I'm not sure if it happened when I got my flat, or when they were fixing the tire at the shop, but I'd like to fix it if I can. Does anyone know where I could get Italia rim-colored paint? I assume that the rims are steel and will rust unless I clean up the scrapes?

Thanks!

Steve
