Cuppini Wind Screen for 2007 BUDDY (Large Headset)

Post by ICEMAN »

Just installed the New Cuppini Short Windscreen and rode to work.........WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Its the BEST MOD I have done so far hands down........

I increased top end by 4 or 5 MPH.

Steering is much more stable at Higher Speeds.

It Looks GREAT!

And the WIND NOISE in my helmet Decreased SIGNIFICANTLY! I had heard some people complaining about increased wind noise and even wearing ear plugs so I was fully expecting to have a wind tunnel affect........not the case at all......I have far less noise with the windscreen than without...maybe it is because I have a 3/4 Helmet with full face shield and already had lots of noise but now I can hear cars next to me and the buddy engine much better.....

It was pretty windy on the way into work and I had no issues with handling, I am 6'1" tall and my eye sight is just above the windscreen, it directs the wind up over the top or just at the top of my helmet I cant say enough about this addition..........very happy........I bought it from scooterworks and the only complaint I do have is the instructions were pretty weak......I had to pull up the scooterworks sight and look at the picture to make sure I installed it correctly, other than that the insall was pretty simple........

Oh one other great Feature is the Mirrors! they are further out to the side so you can see behind you and to the side much better........

Thanks for posting..I've been trying to decide which windscreen to purchase. I'm 5'.5" tall and thought maybe the medium or the new short would suffice.

Would you post an update after you've had for a month and tried in all different weather?

absolutely, and if you are 5'5" tall the cuppinin short or wsbud3 on scooterworks site will be perfect for you, and I can already tell that I am going to be riding in much colder weather than when I was riding my zx-50.....it routes the wind around you but you still get some wind which is perfect for me anyway, I jut cant believe the handling difference.......very impressed.......I should have done this earlier.......

I thought it was going to look funny too but it looks rather nice IMO.......

The dealer suggested I get the short but some other riders suggested the medium.

Keep posting your continued experience with it.

It's been in the 90's in MN so having the wind has been helpful to cool down while riding, but when the weather changes to 50-60's the windscreen will be needed. I think?!

I started this link on the same subject last week....

topic2011.html

I ordered the short windscreen from Scoot Richmond
http://www.scootrichmond.com/
and they shipped it same day and the total was only $63.46!!! The MSRP is $99.

I installed it today after work and the acceleration is noticeably better, the ride more stable, and I've gained about 10 mph 'indicated' in top speed. Still wind in my face but it feels much more stable. Buy it...you'll like it!

This thread is for the 2007 cuppini windscreen with the large headset, I see you have the 2006 model and the thread you say you started was about scooter richmond......so not the same subject exactly......

I just wanted to clarify as some here are considering buying the windscreen for their 2007 Buddy and did not want them to get confused and accidentally buy the 2006 model thinking they were getting a better Deal and then find out it wont fit their scooter......

I see you say you got 10mph more top end! wow thats the most I have heard from anyone.........congrats.....

Does scooter richmond sell the Cuppini short windscreen for the 2007 buddy? I did not see that listed on that website. TIA

Sorry and you are right, I purchased the 'Genuine' short windscreen for my 06' Buddy.

Mirrors...that's even better than the improved performance / stability / looks.

Now I can see behind me without having to press my elbows against my side. What a difference an inch makes!

Iceman - I can't wait to see the windscreen your scoot! I'm hoping you'll be able to make the Cherry Creek Freak on 8/18. I'm thinking I want to get one of those come Fall.

I still want to hear that Stebel horn also. I was kicking myself when I remembered I hadn't heard it before I left the table at Streets of London a couple weekends ago.
