gy6 150cc swap?

Post by Latch »

I have a rough house 50 thats got 23,000 miles on it Ive rebuilt it 3 times, once with a 70cc kit, then again as a 50, then again by swapping the entire engine/trans assembly from another wrecked rough house 50, its still running strong but I am looking to build it up again, what I really want is to purchase a rattler engine and swap it but I cant find that available for purchase anywhere, so Im thinking a gy6 swap could be a good alternative, I was wondering if anyone has done this or has any thoughts?

I know there are a few who have done it. One person here in the forums used the killer gy6 frame mount for a ruckus. The mount was modified, but I don't know how much modification was needed.

And I'm pretty positive that he stuck with the original Rattler powertrain verses the GY6. Hopefully that was were most of the problems occured, fitting the Rattler into the GY6 mount, not fitting the GY6 mount into the Rattler.

Good point there. Would have been nice to see the modded mounts though for killer scooter gy6 mount.
