New Buddy Blackjack owner!

Post by mkleck »

Well Since last summer I have been thinking about getting a scooter, I thought it would be a blast putting around town on it. Well three weeks ago a buddy of mine let me take his Honda Metro (50cc that i hit 40mph down hill!) and I was instantly hooked. I was originally looking to get a used Metro, but after talk to another friend of mine who had a Buddy 150, she said I would regret limiting myself to 50cc and certain roads I could travel on having a top speed of 37mph.

So onto my mission of finding a Buddy. I contacted the Pittsburgh Buddy dealer with some questions on the Psycho, and never heard back. So then I came across The Buffalo Scooter Co. in Buffalo NY (http://thebuffaloscooterco.com/) I was browsing their site and sent a message in regards to the Psycho, and Joe promptly got back to me. They had a brand new 2009 Blackjack with 3miles on it. I looked up the Blackjack, and really liked it, especially considering it was a 150cc instead of the Psycho's 125.

We talked back and forth, and finally this past Friday i borrowed my buddy's Honda Ridgeline and head up to pick it up!

Here is the inside of The Buffalo Scooter Co.

Here is my 2009 Blackjack with now 72miles on it!

Looking forward to it finally being broken in to really open her up and to throw the exhaust on it!

Wow! Maybe you're not aware of how much of a score that Blackjack is. If not, let me fill you in. That model has been discontinued, so finding a new one is getting to be a quite rare thing. The Blackjacks are a fantastic improvement over the base model Buddy. Congratulations and enjoy your new, rare, ride!

I'm definitely not-so-secretly envious. if I get a chance to I want to pick up a BlackJack. There have been several used for sale, but I've never been able to nab them.

Maybe a similar version of the 170i or whatever Genuine pulls off next will be the one that makes me do it :P.

That's the store where I got my best birthday present ever this year. They were really great about replacing wobbly mirror no questions asked too. Almost time to go in for first 500 mile check up

The staff at The Buffalo Scooter Co. was great!! I will be heading back there for my 500mi service as well!

is there a way to search the forum to get results with the keywords in the title only? I am looking for what people are going with for helmets, and the results are coming back after searching the entire post, and I don't see an option to specify titles only.

Thanks!

Congratulations! I got my Blackjack in April with 200 miles on it. I can't believe how much I already love it. I hope you do too.

You're gonna love it.....

If I may be so bold as to make a few suggestions:

1 Put on the Prima pipe. It should have come with it.

2 Go to pirateupholstery.com and get yourself a cafe racer style seat. I LOVE mine, and it really adds to the spirit of my bad little boy:

The exhaust is sitting in my garage. I was told that it should be broken in with the stock exhaust? I'm only at 140miles, had to take a trip down to Ocean City MD for work, so the buddy is left home not getting any love...

And what is this seat you speak of? That picture you posted has the stock Blackjack seat?

The seat is actually a different style: a cafe racer. It's flat with lip in the back. Black leather, with gel inserts. It's made to look like it's part of the bike. Check out pirate upholstery.com.

My bike came from the dealer with the prima pipe already on it. I don't think you need to worry about break in before you change the pipe.

unless they jetted the carb lean, then you would need to upjet when you add the pipe.
