I got a Bail-Out Bag!

Post by JohnKiniston »

I am so excited, it came today.

Cant wait to try it out :)

It's a lot browner than I was expecting, I thought it was going to be more tanish.

My co-worker said she is disappointed that it does not match my boots.

This would be the "BOB" or "Bail Out Bag". Also known as a Bug-Out-Bag (depending on what kind of forum you frequent). There are many kinds out there, but the one that gets the most press here on MB is this one:

They are multi-pocketed military style utility bags made of heavy canvas, and are infinitely useful! You can hold alot in a very small space, they're durable and they're cheap! I have a slightly different version I use for a range bag, but you can use these as saddlebags, underseat bags, rack bags.... heck, anything! They are easy to lash to a scooter's rack and take a beating and are dirt cheap. And, the many, many pockets are great for tools, travel kit, medical supplies, lunch... well, you get the idea.

Good thing this was brought back up. I'm buying a bunch of new audio gear now that I've got my funding for live field recording, and a few of these are just the ticket to haul around adapters and patch cables.
"Earth" without Art is just "Eh"...

Just noticed that ThinkGeek sells the LAPG bag as well - you can see the little tag in their photos.. Ten bucks more than LAPG, but if you're saving up Geek Points for that light saber , it might be worth your while.

I gave a couple of the bags as gifts last Christmas. Very well received.

Bail-Out-Bag, the official tool bag of my Cannonball 2012 run!

Hard to distinguish it from the photo, but it's on the floor between my feet. And it carried all my tools... spare parts, canyon dancer, ratchets, tape, torque wrench, air compressor, variator tool, a quart of oil, oil filter, and other stuff.
