new buddy owner, Italia top case
Hey everyone,
Picked up my Buddy 125 SI from Barry at Scooter Center in SF yesterday. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience there so far.
I'm thinking about getting a top case, but can't decide between the SI green one or the cream one. I think the cream one might highlight the dual tone paint job. Anyone have this combo and willing to send me a photo?
So stoked.

The cream colored top case will complement your green SI Buddy. I haven’t seen this color combination but it sounds nice.
I installed the matching Italian Green top case to my SI Buddy and I think that the matching top case looks very nice. Just about every ride I go on someone asks about my Buddy and compliments on how nice it looks.
scullyfu’s suggestion about replacing stock nuts/washers with the locking type is a good suggestion. If you install the top case yourself, here is what scullyfu is referring to. When you receive the top case you will also receive a metal support plate. The metal support plate gets bolted to your rear rack and then the top case gets bolted to the metal support plate. The stock nuts/washers/bolts that are used to attach the metal support plate to the rear rack are not the locking type. What happened to scullyfu was that the vibration from riding the Buddy loosened the nuts/washers so that the metal support plate with the top case attached to it fell off the Buddy while driving. scullyfu had locking nuts/washers installed to the bolts of the metal support plate. That sounded like a good suggestion so I did the same to my Buddy.
Corsair wrote an excellent set of instructions for removing the stock rear rack and installing the rear rack that you will need to attach the top case. The instructions are here:

Good luck!

i just wanted to say the original topcase that flew off the back of my scooter hit the street at about 25-30 mph. it was scratched and gouged, but it did not dent or fly open (it was locked). so despite looking a liitle less rugged that the givi's, it held up really well.
and thanks to hcstrider for expounding on my original post.
