Painting cowl bra?

Post by Sach »

I have painted vinyl seats in the past with success. Has anyone done this with the cowl bra? I have a black stella and thinking of painting them red or orange. Any thoughts?

If you have black cowl covers, I would think it would be tough to get the color to cover the black color. If I remember correctly, the vinyl spray sinks into the vinyl, not on top of the vinyl.

Might be easier to have some custom made in a different color. Though if you've had success with other vinyl... give it a shot. :) Then show us if it worked.

I think I may take a shot at making some. Would be nice if there was a patten out there.

Contact Cheeky Seats. They have a Stella, and are make seat covers. They do their own pattern making.

What's a good way to measure and replicate curved surfaces?

You could drape sheets of newspaper over the cowls and then cut until you have pattern pieces.
