Buddy 50 headlamp issue

I'm wondering if anyone else has had any problems like this?

I had an accident in October and had to have the headlight assembly replaced. Ever since, I can not keep a headlight working. The first one blew out in less than a week. I figured no big deal, the season was almost over anyway, so we put it in storage and figured we would take it straight to the mechanic when Spring hit. He found mice inside. Got them all out, fixed the wiring that they had chewed, and replaced the bulb. I didn't have it 24 hours and the bulb blew. I took it back and he replaced the bulb, figuring it might have gotten a fingerprint on it or something, since there was nothing else wrong with the electrical. He tested it three times, no problem. I got it home, rode to work, and then on my way home, it blew. It always goes out on the low beam first, and then when I switch to high beam, it flickers once or twice when I open the throttle and then dies. I've had to ride home in the dark with only my hazards twice. I have to find a solution to this problem! Has anyone else had it? My mechanic is very good, and he is stumped.

I had a similar problem with my Buddy 125. It ended up being a bad voltage regulator.

I ended up ordering it from some place in Florida.

Horn acting OK? That was another symptom I had..horn was weak or just would not go.

Many times these type of problem has occurred with me, with the electrical appliances. The mice has chewed the wires and I have to repair it again and again.

Oh yes...that can happen. A single wire a mouse had chewed through prevented my jeep from starting.

This is a good point...if there is a bare wire for any reason, mouse damage or otherwise, that comes into contact with another piece of metal and shorts out you could loose your bulb.

If you take of the plastic covers and just follow the wires you may bare spot rubbing somewhere. This can be time consuming, but it could be all you need is a piece of electrical tape to solve the problem.
