[NSR] GoPro Specs?

Post by Rob »

I'm all packed and getting ready to head out in the AM for a 2 week combo bike/fishing trip.

I'm taking my cheapo digital camera, but as always, I likely won't take many pics .... I always intend to, but ....

Anyway, I was thinking how nice it would be to have my GoPro camera mounted to my bike and ready to go. I purchased one a while back, my daughter borrowed it and forgot to give it back ... well, ok, after awhile I told her to keep it.

So, I'm determined to get another and just checked out their website. While I understand digital SLRs, digital video cams are another story.

I'm looking at these 3 GoPro's, but the specs mean little to me. Any expertise and suggestions out there on what this all means and what you might suggest for typical MC/scoot ride videos?

Thanks,
Rob

I've used GoPros for a few years now. I prefer the Silver edition to the Black. Stay away from the White.

Reasons for the Silver - no software freezing/failing, great sensor, and excellent footage. The only stuff you're missing from the Black is the higher resolution (higher than 1080p, -->1440p - almost nothing can even display it, now think about your computer trying to edit it!!) and HD 120 frames-per-second. The only reason you'd need footage that slow is for action sports like Twixtor.

There are lots of forums for this stuff - you can find more specifics there.

Here's an example with the Silver from a few weeks ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDNKuWt0 ... e=youtu.be

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to go with the Silver.

Where was the camera mounted on your ride?
