Looking for help to aquire OEM 4T Stella parts
Hello,
I am new to the forum. I am from Colorado. I do not own a Genuine myself but I help my friend repair theirs. I have come in search of information on acquiring OEM 4T Stella parts. I have been through this forum as best I could but searches for Stella parts came up with hundreds of pages of results so I decided to join and start this thread.
In my search on line I have found a few manuals for the 4T Stella including a service manual. I have not been able to find a parts diagram with part numbers for the 4T Stella though. If anyone knows where I can find a parts diagram with part numbers please let me know.
I am also looking for a source of OEM parts for the 4T Stellas. I looked online but all I could find are aftermarket parts and mods. I did look on Genuine's site too but I found no parts department links. Does anyone know of a site that sells OEM parts for the 4T Stella? Do I need to contact Genuine directly to order OEM parts for the 4T Stella?
The part I am after to repair my friend's 4T Stella is the oil filter cap. My friends cap cracked and broke. If anyone knows where I can get one new or used lemme know. A parts source where anything for the 4T Stella is available is really what I am after though. There are some other parts that my friend is needs/wants too I believe.
Thanks for the halp.

I know we have dealer/s locally for various brands of scooters including Genuine. It has been my experience though that sourcing directly online for parts that aren't in stock at the dealer/s is a much easier and less time consuming solution then waiting for a dealer to order parts. What has been known to take our local dealer/s several weeks can often happen in several days if a source of parts is available online. Our local Genuine dealer only stocks the most basic parts, like tires, belts, ect. Online parts retailers generally have much bigger selection then what is available locally because online parts retailers specialize in getting parts shipped. Dealers pretty much specialize in selling scooters.
Thanks for the ScooterWorks tip. It may help. I will check with them.

Thanks for the other suggestions. I was on SIPs last night. They mostly had real basic stuff. I will check ScootWest today.
As for our local dealer in a round about way they are partially responsible for the cap being broken. Now the situation is a sore spot between the owner of the scooter and the dealer. For the sake of my local scooter community in case any of them read this thread and because of this forum's posting guidelines I am not going into further details about the situation with the local dealer. Suffice to say my friend is attempting to work with the local dealer but if another parts source can be found it may be best for all parties involved.

So here is what I have found out. ScooterWorks does not stock OEM parts for the 4T Stella. They referred me to the ScooterLounge. Unfortunately the ScooterLounge was closed today so I am not sure if they have OEM parts for the 4T Stella.
I did call ScooterWest and they do carry OEM parts not listed on their website. So ScooterWest is definitely a source of OEM parts for the 4T Stella.
ScooterWest also sells a parts diagram book for the 4T Stella. The book sells for $33 -> http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_page ... ok-4T/8328

Thanks again for your help. Your info was a life saver for my friend. My friend's only transportation is their Stella so they were pretty anxious to find and acquire a new oil filter cap when theirs cracked. I checked with ScooterWest and they had the cap in stock luckily. My friend just order one from them. The cap will be here in 3 days. My friend is stoked.Drum Pro wrote:Glad I caould at least point you in the right direction.

Yes, I also found out that Scooterworks very recently (as of 3 weeks ago) no longer sells OEM parts to non-dealers (you and me) so now I have to bother my dealership (that I am not too thrilled with) for small parts. probably because that dealership over tightened the broken bolts in question (since I have never wrenched my own scooter - yet).
aaaand this new choice for scooterworks to force me to go to a dealer or one of their own competitors is not my new favorite. ah well.
$33 bucks so I can look up the part myself. interesting.
I only saw 10 pages of Stella 4t parts on their website? I hope they can order parts they don't have advertised...

That's what I just [found] broke, too.
or you might have meant the one on the spare tire side behind the rear wheel. but still that'd be funny if were were all looking for the same part.

Shoot, what did I do wrong wth the photos? I used to be good at this. ah well.

My friend was after the other one that is behind the spare tire. It is a plate with three bolt holes. I don't have a pic right now otherwise I would post it.Lovelandstella wrote:oh man- was it this one?scooter mcgee wrote: ...My friend's only transportation is their Stella so they were pretty anxious to find and acquire a new oil filter cap when theirs cracked...

I'd bet that the Kymco Super8 screen cover, Honda Helix cover, Honda Elite 125/150/250 or the rocker cover off of a Honda Cub/Passport/CT would fit that.
Try the Honda dealer first.

At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

OH! I see what I did wrong now. Thank you!scooter mcgee wrote:... There is no need to use the img tag if you have the Flickr embed code.Lovelandstella wrote: ...Shoot, what did I do wrong wth the photos? I used to be good at this. ah well.
Below I used Flickr's embed code to share one of your pics. If you click the quote button of this post in the text editor that appears you will see the Flickr embed code that I used to embed the below pic.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/100851948@N07/9600888929/" title="broken Oil screen bolt 2 by ScottyScooter, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7312/9600 ... fb1a2f.jpg" width="500" height="281" alt="broken Oil screen bolt 2"></a>
...

so anyway- I ended up fixing this part with a BUDDY part from my dealer. I was SHOCKED that they fit.
I'd say I'll post a photo of it BUT, I have forgotten to post so many photos over the last 2 years I'm embarassed and dont want to make any more broken promises.

az_slynch - I bet it was the same part- some kind of universal Oil screen bolt or something.az_slynch wrote:I'd bet that the Kymco Super8 screen cover, Honda Helix cover, Honda Elite 125/150/250 or the rocker cover off of a Honda Cub/Passport/CT would fit that...
