Looking for nice routes in San Diego, CA
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew any nice routes in San Diego? I've heard about highway 101 and highway 80 but does anyone know the details on how to get to these highways? I also would like to know if there are other highways the buddy is allowed on. I'm just a little confused. I know buddy's aren't allowed on freeways in CA but they're allowed on highways? Can someone clear this up for me, thanks!

We are planning several rides in San Diego right now. The next one is SD to Oceanside on Sunday, Nov. 18th and Black Friday ride on the 23rd around town.
The Scooter Meetup group is a good resource. Many of us have informal rides in smaller groups too. http://scooter.meetup.com/217/
I'll PM you also.

Where do you wanna go?
We have ridden from Temecula to Mission Bay and back without taking any freeways...a nice ride. Really the only place you can't ride a Buddy on is the interstates I-5, I-215, I-805 etc. There are numerous alternatives to the freeways, like Hwy 76, 101, Old 395, etc.

I forgot to answer the highway question: The Buddy is considered a "motor-driven cycle" which are not legal on freeways. Interstates 5, 8, 15 805, State Routes 163, 52, 56, 125, 905, parts of 94 & 67 are off-limits. Highways with cross traffic and do not have ramps are legal for scooters less than 150cc's ex. SR78, 79, old hwys 80, 101 and 395, parts of SR76, 67, and 94.
