Gas gage broken?

Post by pugbuddy »

Has anyone's gas gage broken? Mine was fine until the other morning--suddenly it showed I was scraping the bottom of empty when it had 1/4 tank the night before (after I got done riding). I went to fill it up and it only held .811 gallons yet the gage only went up to just past 1/2 a tank!

I need this thing to be reasonably accurate--is it fixible? Does anyone know how much it may cost?

The guage isn't really accurate as to 1/2 tank, 1/4 tank but mine sure reads full when its full. Unless you have an '06 (or are the 2nd owner), it sounds like warranty time.

Mine usually reads empty @ around a 1/4 tank too. I'll then take it to the gas station and I can barely fit 1 gallon in the tank. However the gauge does read full when the tank is full, so maybe you do have a problem.

Yeah, this is the first time it has done this. I guess I'll run it by the scoot shop this weekend during the rally. :(

FWIW, this is also a problem with the Stellas. Mine went bonkers, stopped showing anything, started again, stopped, lather rinse and repeat.

Its been working since right before the rally, but I expect it it stop again. Kinda of p's me off since it's a brand new scoot and already got problems, ya know?

Yep, I meant to show it to the Tulsa Scooters crew while at the rally but it was working fine after I filled up again for the ride! Go figure....

Same here. I talked to Brad about it, he told me what the DMM info I should check was and then pow it worked.

Same thing happened on my second fillup....I left work...got home 11 miles later, and the gauge was nearly on the peg....I only could get 1.1 gallons in there. I suspect it acts like a reserve tank so you don't run out of gas.

So far I have 187 miles on her, and am averaging 78mpg.
