Covers for Deadlights???

Post by chancerbeans13 »

Has anyone found a way to take the cover off without breaking off the clips at the bottom holding it on? I managed to break both of them. I am going to make these into running lights, and wanted to put clear bulbs in. I am going to buy new ones, but would like to know for future reference.

Those are a major PITA... you'll need a small flathead screw driver like one for a computer or small electronics, get the screw out and then pry at the corner where the screw is, it will pop off to the front of the scoot where the tab is, sometimes it may take a little force but not so much you gouge the plastics.

If it's any consolidation, they are just as hard to get off even if you pull the housing and work with it by itself
I don't do much modding on the scoot anymore, just riding :-)

I'm gonna see if my shop will activate the dead lights to mirror the DOT lights. I hate breaking stuff but I'm willing to pay people to break stuff...hmm.
