The "No Age Limit" ride

I heard about these to guys riding MP3's across the country. So I'm driving to get my daughter from daycare and guess who I passed.

Elizabeth and I caught up with them ang I got to talk with them abit. They are taking the Lincoln Highway from Lincoln Park in San Fran to New York. The highway doesn't exist anymore but the map is available on the website.

If they are taking the Lincoln Hwy. they will be close to me when they hit IL.

I saw this on the Piaggio site. It's cool that they're doing it. No to diminish what they're doing, but I had to wonder about the challenge of going cross country on MP3 500s, though. Of course, if I had one, that's exactly what I'd do!

Its hard to imagine that in 27 years I'll hope to be 73 years old. It doesn't seem that long from now; I just hope to have the same enthusiasm for riding (anything) then as I do now.

I can't believe it, but I actually recognize that hotel. I've been over that pass in the Swiss Alps on a motorcycle. In fact, the Swiss Army used to use these really old Swiss-made motorcycles (nobody in the USA has ever heard of) as messenger bikes and I passed a group of them out on maneuvers way up there in the Alps. That was a long, long time ago, almost a lifetime ago for some of you guys. Wow...

When I talked with them, they were telling me that normally they both ride the big BMW touring bikes or rally bikes but once they rode the MP3, they were hooked and won't be going back to the BMW's.

But, even if they are touring on the 500's, at their age, you can't blame them. Both are in their 70's.

They were telling me that they had to drive over gravel roads in a few places and they had no worries on the MP3's like they would normally on a bike. The stability difference, they said is phenomenal.
