fuel stabilizer/battery tender in the summer?

Post by Ed Hit »

OK, so buddy has to take a couple of long layoffs. Out of town for one, and toe surgery for the other

I know that battery tender and Seafoam are needed for the season I shall not mention. should I use it for these 10 days and possibly up to a month in the summer?

Thanks for the advice!

What's the Seafoam for? I have a buddy that uses it in his old Rover and I laugh. It never sits- he always drives it and modern brand name gas has all the additives it needs. I was wondering what the benefit would be for the short term that you're talking about?

Seafoam to prevent gas from going bad and/or gumming up the carb. Widely recommended here in the season I shall not mention. That is obviously up to 3-4 months.

I just did not know what that actual time frame is? Am I worried about it in a 2-4 week period?

And it will not hurt anything in the first place. So I am kind of inclined to do it. Or am I being overly cautious?

As fuel stablizer doesn't damage anything (at least I haven't found any problems with Stabil anyway), what would it hurt?

And AFA the battery tender goes, I keep my 2 scoots ALWAYS plugged in (in my garage) whenever they're not out onna road... 8)
What's wrong with always having a fully charged battery?
(There's even a school of thought that says your scoot's battery will last longer if you do this..!) :)
Namaste,
