I have a Buddy 125. There appears to be an abnormal amount of air coming from the underside of the engine. Enough to spray dirt and leaves under initial trottle at start up from the left hand side of the scoot.
I assume that an exhaust leak (say from the header connection) would not throw a large amount of air, especially with any sort of downward directional force.
Is there any normal reason that air would be pushed out of the engine this way? Is there an easy / best way to diagnose where the air is coming from?
Cheers,
Matt

Well, they are forced-air cooled. The cool air enters at the fan on the exhaust side, and blows over the shrouded engine and exits below...mjw wrote:I have a Buddy 125. Yes, forced air cooled, see this http://www.modernbuddy.com/pdf/BUDDY_125_PARTS_FIG.pdfmjw wrote:I did think they were air cooled only - not forced air cooled - maybe I am just being paranoid.

Forced air cooling is one of the things that makes scooters better than motorcycles
