Front Disk Brake Replacement - Help

Post by g_1203 »

I'm trying to replace the front disk pads on my 2013 Roughhouse 50 and I'm having some trouble getting the new pads seated.

I purchased these pads from Scooterworks:

I've tried to follow this guide from the DIY reference section. I don't think it's exactly the same (no cotter pin):

I got the old pads out, no problem. I compressed the piston. After a little fighting I got the first new pad seated into the clips. The issue I'm having, is there doesn't seem to be a way for the second pad to fit in the clips. The bottom part (not sure what it's called) in the picture below seems to be flush with the clips. Does that side need to be compressed too? Is there a way to do that? Any advice would be appreciated.
