Hey Genuine! How About Updating Your Website?

Post by lobsterman »

Maybe some day Genuine will update their website. It has said "Introducing the new Genuine Lineup!" for quite a long time. I don't think they've updated anything on the home page, news, or Buddy page since the day I first looked at it in August or September last year.

You would think that they'd want to generate a little more buzz about the Series Italia, the new Ruby Red color, and the improvements in the 07 model. Or maybe they just count on pocphil to do it for them.

I've been wanting the same thing! I've gotten just about all my info here and emails from my dealer. Why is there no info on the 07 model @ the site? Even the image gallery is all Stella pics. :(

I suspect that they, like most of the scooter vendors in the US don't have a full-time web dev on staff. I'd be willing to bet that Genuine doesn't even have a full-time IT person on staff :-) .

Because of that, it's difficult to keep a website update, and brochure-ware sites like there are even tougher to keep current without a full-time person, or at the very least a contractor that can give them 20-40 hours a month to deal with the issues. Hell, I own a small IT business, and that site doesn't get update but 3-4 times a year because I'm too busy dealing with customer sites :-).

Gotta admit, I use to run our own website. Eventually, Spooky and I divided it down so that he had half and I had half. Mostly just homesteading type information, but his half had a forum for YuGiOh players, mainly kids.

I'm a stay at home Mom, I do homeschool, but I still had a hard time keeping up with it.

But...They SHOULD at least get to it once or twice a year. My dealer out here couldn't figure out why they were still advertising the Stellas. He said they weren't making them anymore. :?

But, at least they have links to other places, including here. (That's how I found this place.) And they have the "closest dealer" search engine.

I"ve seen quite a few things that they dont' show at the site at all.

I split PJ's request for Genuine site feedback to a new thread so it would get more attention.

Thanks!
