Gorgeous today!

Post by axiom007 »

The temp has reached 71 degrees today after a long three weeks of 20-40 degree weather, not to mention snow and ice. It is wonderful. However, it is supposed to get back down to 43 tomorrow. So Carpe Diem, just watch out for the salt and sand

Tell me about it! 60s here, and got to satiate NutterButter's urge to "go faster" on the buddy. We had to do taxes, and between our place and the tax place (on base) were some 30mph stretches.

My daughter is getting rather comfy behind me on teh buddy. A little too comfortable at times, I had to remind her of a couple of points today. LOL Typical kid, (she's 12), she wants to look around.

The base was loaded with motorcycles today too.

SPEAKING OF! I've had some problems starting my scooter today. I've had to hit the kick starter and reve it even though it doesnt' "sound" like it's started. (it's easier to do with the kick start than the electric start), and some guy comes over to "help" and askes...

"Can you start it while it's on the stand?"

Basically I gave him a short run down that it's "best" to do so, or it will take off on you, that it's an automatic trans, etc.

He said..."That's different from most motorcycles".

I refrained from informing him that he had no idea what the heck he was looking at! LMAO!

Had fun, got some running around done, and was dang glad that I wasn't sick today, like I was yesterday. :bleh:

Maybe you should try adjusting your idle timing (I play with mine just about once a week when I do my major tire and oil check). That's what my problem is when I can barely tell it's started. Idle timing post.

Also, wonderful day here in The woodlands. So hard to stay at school and then drag my butt to work to make all of 25 dollars.

Battery problem maybe? Does anything happen when you hit the electric start?

Been in the mid-high 70s and low 80s here the past few days, which made for some great weekend scootering. But it's supposed to rain tomorrow and the rest of the week, bah...

I, too, took advantage of the warm weather yesterday to get in some much-needed scooting. Despite the abundant sunshine today, it was still frickin' cold. My commute home is usually after dark & across a lake, which makes any drop in temp that much more significant. Combined with a sinus infection, I opted for the gas-guzzler today.

I don't mean to be bitter or anything but you guys are killing me. We are at 12 degrees now (hey we had a warm up!) with well below 0 windchills. Its just too painful to see this 70-80 stuff.

We’re not like further south but around here the weather has been turning good by our standards.
The scooters and motorcycles are coming out in force – its great to see winter being pushed back as are the sleeves of the tougher riders.
Already put 100 miles on the od in 2 days.

Freezing Fog today! Aaack! If I didn't have to go out, I wouldnt' have. Even then, I should have waited a couple more hours before taking the W2s up to the tax center. The strip of road the tax center is on was slick! Not to mention, no one does 20mph on that road, it's another they presume to be 30mph.

It was freaky, I could SEE the stuff, where it was, and where it wasn't. Never ridden outside of a car in freezing fog before. I'd prefer never to do it again! LMAO!
