Greetings From Munich

Post by lobsterman »

Just wanted to say hey...

I'm in Munich for the week. People drive like they're insane here, and I'm from NJ so I know NY/NJ drivers.

I've seen several scooters, one lane splitting through traffic (it is illegal here though). No BDs though.

It's darned cold in Cincinnati right now (2F), so I'm not missing anything.

Snowing here in Munich but yesterday was sunny and 45F - great scooting weather.

Snow – don’t like the stuff but at least its warmer than your home.

With the few scooters you see can you tell if windshields are popular?

Kevin, be happy you are where you are. The commute home from work is going to suck here. The snow is supposed to start at about 1:00 and the brunt of it is supposed to come at rush hour.

You should hear all the closings already today.

Hey, Kevin! It's Angie! Me and Ben are still at work. It started snowing here at 12:30pm and coming down about 2"/hour. Traffic here in Clifton has been at a standstill. It's supposed to snow steadily until after midnight. One of the gals I work with had an hour and a half wait just to get out of the parking garage! So me and Ben are gonna' suck up some overtime/comp time for all the Rallies we plan on attending this year!!! WKRP in Cincinnati 2007!!!! Can't wait for our first Cincy Rally. Be safe over there!!

Speaking of the snow...I went home a little early today because of all the snow. Shoveled the sidewalk and then got curious about riding the buddy. Took awhile to warm up but then played with it for about 5 minutes in the snow. I got a lot more traction on the sidewalk than I did in the 5 or 6 inches in the street (we live on a cul de sac). Okay, so there was basically zero traction in the street. I had to push it back to the sidewalk. Here's a quick photo. Video on YouTube will be ready shortly.

Yeah my wife told me about the snow and such too, sounds like I'm missing all the fun. My daughter is in Cincinnati Children's Choir and they canceled rehearsal last night, which they normally treat as if it is the most important thing in the world.

Angie, I'm looking forward to WKRP too, we should have a real big Buddy contingent there. It will be big fun I think. Our ride the end of December is most Buddys I've ever seen in one place so far. :)

Steve, I've been wanting to try the Buddy in the snow as well. You beat me to it. Maybe it's not such a bright idea after all? I can't wait to see the video. Lisa would surely kill me if I suggested riding it in the snow, much less asked her to video the process!

Any of you other Cincinnatians know how many Buddys there are locally?

There has to be a lot.

SethXYL would be the guy to ask. I think he told me at one point that they had sold like 65 or so of them, but I know they deliver pretty far north and as far south as Louisville, so no telling where they ended up.
