Burning Plastic Smell

Post by shadmock »

Has anyone else smelled burning plastic type smell coming from their buddy after riding a few miles? I have smelled it a few times before and thought maybe it was related to the new engine.........

If you've only had the scooter for a few weeks, that's normal. Don't worry about it. You'll notice it will be gone after about 100 miles.

I don’t remember having any burnt plastic smells. The exhaust can get really hot and anything on it will burn

You'll smell the smell if it is brand new, mine only had 1 mile when I got it. Most dealers will test drive your scoot, and so lots of people won't smell the smell.

I remember smelling it for a while when I first got it. Like mark said, about 100 miles. Maybe thats just because I worry WAY too much about my scoot?

It is most likely the sprayed on corrosion protection for shipping that is burning off.
