I'm finally getting a driver's license (i'm 22) and i'm not sure if i want to spend the extra money and time to get a 125 when i can have a perfectly good 50.
I don't live far from work, maybe 4, 5 miles so i'm pretty sure i can drive safe on the roads to work on a 50. I just need someone to talk me into either one or the other.
Please help!
Buddy 50? or a 125?

Unless you have a pressing reason to get a 50, like parking on sidewalks legally or not needing a motorcycle endorsement, then get the 125. You will want the power and the size is no different. The few hundred dollars in price difference is more than made up if you want to sell it later. It is almost like having a bicycle versus a scooter. The 50 is good for slow streets or on campus riding, but the 125 will take you anywhere you want to go. And once you have it, you will want to go everywhere!

I'll be moving to Denver from Tucson where I've been riding my 125 five miles to work everyday. I got the 125 because the roads I take have a 45mph speed limit and most go 50-55. I'm VERY glad I got the 125.
And....you can peel the 125 sticker off and have a velcro attachment for your license plate, so you can still park a 125 on the sidewalk. Not that I'd ever do that.

Yeah, I concur. I waited for the 50cc's to come out, then bought the 125 after the test drive. And I'm glad I did. It allows me to use the scooter for lots of additional trips. And even if you don't need to go 45+mph, having the extra speed/power to get out of people's way when necessary is well worth the additional cost.

I had the exact same question when I was shopping around. After the responses from here and from my dealer, I bought the 125. Best decision ever! You have so many more options with the 125. The 50 will really limit you.
