My MC instructors told me there's no "kill" switch (it gives a bad visual). I don't remember what they called it, but it's the switch on the right handle bars that kills the engine when you switch it to the x and it must be on to start the engine. When you're going down you might want to turn it off?...maybe, i think i recall being told that,but can't imagine that being a thought on my way down.

All motorcycles and scooters have them. It cuts electricity to the spark plug, which shuts down the engine.
It's pretty handy if a motorcycle goes down while in gear, or if the throttle gets stuck on!
