Does this work? Or is it not industrial enough?
What does "setting in which you would not normally find a motor scooter" mean, exactly?

Industrial Setting

Post by BoneGirl »

I thought we needed to find a setting with industrial equipment, scrap, tools, etc. Here's some different pipes, propane tank and half a football full of stuff that shouldn't have a scooter anywhere near it! Too many pieces of scrap laying around waiting to bite your tires!

I was going to steal Union's idea and ride down to downtown Nashville, near LP Field w/ all that scrap metal piles... :)

I don't think my Buddy belongs here.

If that works here is the next tag....

Your downtown. This photo is a 180 view. My Buddy is in the lower right of the photo.

It was the "DO NOT ENTER" signs which prompted me to get in and out quickly. Also the 12 inch drop from the cement to the gravel isn't really the Buddy's strength. It's really more of a construction site than an industrial site also, that's why I asked "if this works".

I'm just saying, I would be really impressed if you you got a plank, drove your buddy back there, jumped it off those 12 measly inches, took a picture behind the "DO NOT ENTER" sign, placed your plank, and drove out.

Also, that panoramic picture is rad.

Hmmm, I'm confused. I would think an industrial setting would have to do with manufacturing. But UnionDog's pic was a scrap heap. Mine is industrial supplies. (So not really manufacturing.) I'm not sure what Bonegirl's is, but it seems the most industrial. And gr8dog's is a construction site.
So has anyone gotten the tag yet?
UnionZac, maybe you should decide, since it was your tag.

OK, OK, your gonna' get me into trouble yet. Here you go. I still don't know if I hit the tag but it was fun getting these.

I took my daughter with me to get the photos. We had fun tromping around on the new bridge. The deck is finished but no sidewalk or railings yet.

I looked up the definition of "industry" from several different online sources and the dictionary on my computer. It's pretty clear that "industry" typically refers to the manufacture of goods. See below for Mirriam-Webster's Online Dictionary definition. It would seem that construction as an entity is considered an industry (see 2C below) but apparently not an individual construction site. OK, it looks like I didn't get the tag.... yet.

Downtown

Here is the best I can come up with for a Downtown in the city of Mt. Healthy, Ohio (outside of Cincinnati). This shows the main drag with signs pointing the way to City Hall and other points of interest (we're one square mile).

Lemonade Stand

Post by BoneGirl »

These poor kids had their stand all set up and Dad didn't have any of the drinks ready yet so we settled for Pixie Sticks! I asked how much they were and the kid said "$1". Dad about died and told me they weren't and I gave the kid $1 anyway and took 2 of each flavor (for a total of 8). Good deal either way: kid gets a dollar and I get my Tag.

New Tag

Post by BoneGirl »

And the new Tag is your scooter with a Restaurant's Mascot.

In Cincinnati and the tristate area we have Frisch's Big Boy Restaurants and the Big Boy is frequently seen out in front of the restaurants. Do you have a chain of restaurants in your area that boasts a mascot out front? Let's see what we can find.

glad you found the lemonade stand, I didn't really want to get chased off by some angry parent for snapping pictures of their kids to post on the internet.

I grew up in CT, and we have Big Boys restaurants, but they were called "Abdow's Big Boy". Abdow?

To the right of the stand the parents were having a yard sale. We pulled up and went to the stand and Dad ran for the drinks while we explained to Mom why we were there. It never even occurred to me that taking a picture of the kids and their Kool-Aid stand was a bad thing (and still doesn't).

For something that we all (most of us, anyway) can so vividly remember, this tag is turning out to be quite the challenge. Well done, BoneGirl.

gr8dog, is that the Phoenix Suns gorilla, or is Grannie that ugly?

That is hilarious! Nice try but Lagerhead told me last night he did a Google search of your area and found a suitable Tag for you to use that represents another restaurant in your area. I'll let him post it himself!

OK, this is nowhere near as iconic as Bob, but unless your only TV is rural local stations, you should know what this is:

If you aren't sure (I had to stand in Eastbound Camelback Rd, so I couldn't spend too much time composing or lighting) here's a link to a non-cropped version which makes it obvious.http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee17 ... -chili.jpg

Ok then, the new tag is a TREE TUNNEL! It can be a canopy of trees over a street like this or in a park, as long as your scooter is in the photo.
