Just got my first scooter!! It's a 125cc Genuine Buddy in white. Picked it up at the Harley dealer here in Orange County. It was one of two that they got, yay! Now all he needs is a name!

Congrats on the purchase. Be sure to give it a good home.

As for naming, I think you should wait until you see what personality it gives you before you start that. The name needs to fit, don't you think?

A name will come to you as you are riding along, never fear.

My Sunset Orange Buddy is named Charlie Brown-I think he is sort of ugly with too many colors on one scooter but he has a very good, sweet heart. My Blue Sym RV250 is named George (he is kinda futuristic looking and has sticky-out mirrors that sort of look like ears).

That's the same scooter I have, also my first one. Got mine the first weekend this past July and just passed the 1000 mile mark! Haven't found the right name for mine yet, either...

omg it looks great in white! I think it would be so beautiful if you painted the bottom part of the steering assembly white too.

Thanks, everyone! The white just really stuck out among all the other colors when I went to the dealership to look. Actually, all the Buddy scooters stood out amongst all the Harley bikes in the showroom.

I rode around for almost 3 hours yesterday and had a blast! Since this is my first scooty I'm still getting used to riding it. My husband has been riding motorcycles for years now and he said I'm catching on quick!

It's so different from driving a car and I love the open air feeling. No wonder all my friends with bikes love it so much!

Here's a pic of my odo. Got him with only 6 miles and now he's got 10 miles on him!

Slow down a little! You're going to wear that horse out!

Riding a scooter is much closer to riding a bicycle compared to a car. The main difference being that "pedaling" business. Heck, it's even closer to riding a horse than it is to driving a car. (For example, when going over speed bumps, it helps to stand up in the saddle, like jumping on a horse. But maybe save that trick for later, when you've got maybe three digits on your odometer. )

Haha, nice pic. I do the stand-up thing all the time for potholes and RR tracks. I was kinda worried when I first got my
Buddy because the suspension was so stiff it was jarring my spine over the big ones. They softened up quite a bit
since then, much better after they break in a bit.

Congrats on the new bike. I would have posted the exact same article yesterday. I got my new white 125cc buddy home after the 30 mile ride from the dealer. I made the horrible mistake of letting an inexperienced driver (my sister) drive it, into the rock garden, (I live in AZ) and lay it in its side.

She's ok, but my prima pipe, intake cover, windshield, mirror, headlamp ring thingy, and the right sideplastic are a scratched. All that's just superficial. My front wheel grinds every half revolution. I didn't ride it afterwards. It has just been parked. I'll hopefully find out in the morning.

My sister offered to pay for the damages, but I knew not to let her. It even says in the license study guide to never lend the keys to an inexperienced driver which is the last thing I thought before I said "Go ahead". I feel responsible and don't feel right accepting money for something I knew I shouldn't do.

Standing up is also easier on the scooter. Instead of getting stuck between a rock and heavy place, it has more freedom to bounce with the bump.
